Welcome to the home of After Now, an organization founded in early 2007 to create and share imaginative new music for thoughtful and adventurous listeners in Baltimore.

Join us August 12 at the Red Room in Baltimore as After Now makes its highly anticipated return with compositions without performers, surrounding you with sophisticated electronic sonic hypnotism. Composers Mark A. Lackey and Samuel Burt welcome back After Now emeriti C.R. Kasprzyk and Andrew Cole and are happy to feature guest composer Jeff Carey.

Every After Now concert is a program of all new works composed especially for the musicians who have agreed to perform on that concert. The entire process - from idea to composition to final rehearsal to premiere - is repeated each quarter, and the energy and immediacy are evident in every concert.

The final concert of our second season took place at the Red Room on May 9, 2009: composed music informed by improvisations, improvisations informed by composed music. To check out these worthwhile new works and excellent performances, click here!

After Now was founded by composers and organizers Asha Srinivasan, Brian Sacawa, C.R. Kasprzyk, Andrew Cole, Rose Hammer, Mark A. Lackey and Samuel Burt. Several have relocated, while Mark, Rose and Samuel - and sometimes , Sally Sarles - remain in the Baltimore area and continue to offer you concerts hosted by intimate local venues such as the Red Room and Carriage House.
