composed music informed by improvisations
improvisations informed by composed music
We wrapped up our second season with an intimate performance featuring works by Samuel Burt and Mark A. Lackey exploring the cross-pollenation of improvisation and composition. This was followed in turn by an improvisation by the three performers, all of whom have a deep knowledge of composed music.
A very special thanks to brilliant cellist Caleb Jones and, if you'll pardon us thanking each other, thanks also to saxophonist Rose Hammer Burt and bass clarinettist Samuel Burt for excellent, intense performances. Thank you!
